GlassFish Advocacy Increasing exposure and awareness of GlassFish is every bit as important to the project's success as technical contributions such as development and testing. Below are ideas for helping in this area. Please consider contributing by taking these actions, adding ideas of your own, etc.
- We're always on the lookout for more GlassFish Adoption Stories. If your own project could be featured (or you know of another which could), please contact us (stories@sun.com).
- Mention GlassFish in your own blog. Blog about your experiences (even if they aren't all 100% positive--constructive criticism is fine). Or blog about your ideas to make the project better. Even if GlassFish isn't the primary topic of a given blog entry, it can often be referenced (and linked) as an example. Every mention and link helps us build awareness. If you do feature GlassFish prominently in a blog entry, drop us a note (theaquarium@sun.com). We can spotlight your entry there (which can help you gain a wider audience for your own blog).
- Link to the GlassFish site from your own blog entries and other web pages. In addition to introducing your own readers to GlassFish, this helps improve our page ranking with Google and other search engines (which should, in turn, drive even more traffic and awareness to GlassFish).
- If you know of any forums which might be interested in having a GlassFish expert present, let us know (advocacy@glassfish.java.net). We're interest in any venue--Java User Groups, University student groups, etc.
- Post (and vote for) GlassFish-related content to social news sites such as Digg, dzone, and del.icio.us. If you make such a posting, send a note to advocacy@glassfish.java.net so that other GlassFish supports are aware of it and may vote for it.
- Talk about GlassFish in forums such as TheServerSide.com, Javalobby, etc. If you see others posting inaccurate information in such a forum, please correct them (politely, of course).
- Help us make this wiki better by adding new content, cleaning up old content, etc.
