- GlassFish v2 will have one binary that contains clustering capabilities.
- Initially there may be 2 binaries to start with and will be merged soon after. Goal is to merge only is the difference in size is not more than 10 MB.
- By default, clustering features will be disabled
- You will be able to select non-clustering or clustering mode when you install. (If possible, after installation also)
- It will contain everything in Sun's EE version except for the HADB. A light weight in-memory replication may be included (based on when it comes in)
- Source for all this will be available on GF cvs
- There will be documentation and Load Balancer plugin (that can be downloaded separately) to configure a load balancer.
- There will be documentation to install, configure node-agents, instances, clusters, etc.
Unresolved issues:
- When can users switch between non-clustering to clustering mode? during installation or after also?
GlassFish Workspace Meeting Minutes: 27 July 2006: SDK Meeting Attendees:
- Srikanth, Dhiru, Kedar, Pankaj, Snjezana, Lidia, Dinesh
Agenda:
- redcvs CVS status for EE modules
- 9.1 workspace : moving EE modules on java.net with few exceptions in admin-ee, appserv-core-ee
- Any packager,installer changes for 9.1
Minutes:
- Moving 8 EE modules to java.net repository from redcvs, appserv-core-ee, admin-ee will have some code on redcvs as that's not open source code for HADB, jes-mf, cms dependencies
- Kedar mentioned about cleaning up submodules and have all source code from top-level modules under src/java with different packages instead of different submodules.
- We need to have the workspace ready for pushing out to java.net by next week, so we can do submodules refactoring later on once we push sources out on java.net.
- No admingui, cli, installer-packager changes for milestone 1
- How to preserve CVS history check with Raja for RCS,v files.
- Have 64-bit binaries separate, not for milestone 1 but later.
- Pankaj- aslb bundle will be separate downloadable for milestone 1 and will be working on open sourcing lb code later.
