Sun Microsystems (home page, glassfish page) has contributed the code for SJS AS 8.x (both developer and enterprise editions) and has used Project GlassFish to build the reference implementation for Java EE 5. Sun is actively involved in all the core areas of Project GlassFish and is the community lead.
