GlassFish Quality Community Internal Awards Program

This awards program is designed to recognize internal GlassFish community contribution to GlassFish Quality Community. There will be 3 bi-monthly contests starts beginning of July 2008 to end of December 2008, announcement will follow one week after each contest ends. There are 2 iPod touch(8GB) and 5 $100 thinkgreek certificates which will be awarded in each contest based on the contribution level as determined by the community steering members in accordance with the Program Official Rules.

How To Participate

There are many ways internal community can contribute, following are a few examples.

  • GlassFish Application Show Case: Work with GlassFish Partners to deploy 3rd party applications on GlassFish
  • FishCAT (GlassFish Community Acceptance Testing): Participate in this community Beta program
  • Customer Use-Cases: Connect with GlassFish customers to offer GlassFish quality community services
  • Student Mentoring: Engage students to participate and contribute to the Glassfish projects
  • Blog: Write Blogs about GlassFish or associated technologies, and it's quality
  • Building community: Recruit members, Answer questions in GlassFish community mailing alias and forums
  • Helping add tests: Help the community to add their tests into GFQC test framework

Rules

  • You must be a full time employee of Sun Microsystems. By participating in GlassFish Quality Community you are eligible for the contests.
  • There will be 3 bi-monthly contests starts beginning of July 2008 to end of December 2008, announcement will follow one week after the contest ends.
  • 1st contest - Judy 1, 2008 at 12:00 A.M. (PST) to August 31, 2008 at 11:59 P.M. (PST)
  • 2nd contest - September 1, 2008 at 12:00 A.M. (PST) to October 31, 2008 at 11:59 P.M. (PST)
  • 3rd contest - November 1, 2008 at 12:00 A.M. (PST) to December 31, 2008 at 11:59 P.M. (PST)
  • The award decision will be made by GLassFish Quality Community steering members based on the contribution level
  • The winner will be notified in person or by email.

Awards

  • A total number of 2 iPod touch (8GB) will be awarded in each contest
  • A total number of 5 $100 thinkgreek certificates will be awarded in each contest. Since thinkgreek certificates can only be used in US, for Sun employee out side the US, a gift with the same value will be shipped to the winner.
  • The iPod touch and thinkgreek certificates should be reported as taxable income paid to the employees who receive them.
